a re-purposed military drum from the Franco Prussian era (although the sticks are probably WWII)

The bottom also has some wear and light corrosion

These might be unused but they do show storage wear

The hinge is in very good condition and there are very few dents. Interestingly, this appears to have been overpainted a very dark color, almost black and that appears to have been done during the war as some markings appear over this paint. I do believe this would be a great case to restore. The inside is sorta greasy or oily. It smells a bit like it
