Our food had influenced gastronomic culture around the world because Italians have been great travelers, beginning with the enterprising Romans, moving to the Venetian merchant in search of good and fortune, Marco Polo, through Columbus, sought new land for the many emigrants who gone elsewhere in search of wealth.
