An extraordinary journey to the heart of Italian Jewish culture, admiring some of the most ancient Jewish sites spread throughout Italy, from Rome to Pitigliano, the  renowned “Little Jerusalem” of Italy, then Florence, Pisa and Livorno, continuing to Venice and Ferrara and finally ending in Piemonte, where we’ll visit some of  the gorgeous and almost hidden synagogues, following a fascinating reconstruction of the Italian Jews’ tradition, art and history.

Day 1 –  Rome
Sunday, 1st September

Meet and greet your private driver at Rome Fiumicino Airport – transfer to hotel Senato in Rome  – Time for rest – Mid afternoon, meet your small group for an early dinner at a restaurant located nearby your hotel; afterwards 2-hour private guided  Moonlight walking tour of the historic center of Rome:  Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona Spanish Steps.

Day 2 – Rome
Monday, 2nd September

10 am: Meet your private guide for walking tour of the Jewish “Ghetto of Rome” and Great Synagogue of Rome
Lunch at a restaurant in the Ghetto area.
pm: Guided Private stroll of the “Roseto” (out, ancient Jewish Cemetery, Tito’s Arch in the Roman Forum and Coliseum (external visit only).
Dinner at leisure

Day 3 – Rome
Tuesday, 3rd September

09 am: Private driver to the  Ostia Antica Archaeological Park and private guided tour of the ancient Sea Port of Rome, with a focus on the ruins of the most ancient synagogue in Europe.
Return to Rome at lunch time
pm: Private guided visit of the Capitolini Museum for a reconstruction of the Jews of Rome’s history in Ancient Imperial Rome

Day 4Transfer to Florence
Wednesday, 4th September

09 am: Private driver to Pitigliano, the “Little Jerusalem”
Private guide for walking tour of the Jewish Ghetto, synagogue and the small medieval “borgo”
Lunch at a restaurant in the historic center of the town
pm: private driver continue to Florence
06 pm:  Arrival in Florence – Check in hotel Paris
Dinner at leisure

Day 5 – Florence
Thursday, 5th September

09 am: Private driver  to Pisa and Livorno for visit of both synagogues
Lunch and wine tasting at a Kosher Property in the countryside of Pisa
pm: return to Florence and dinner at leisure

Day 6 –  Florence – Day trip to Venice
Friday, 6th September

07 am: Clients to walk to Florence train station – High speed train to Venice – Private guided tour of the Jewish Ghetto and some of the synagogues of Venice
Lunch and afternoon at leisure
Return to Florence by Shabbat time
Early dinner at leisure, time to walk to the synagogue of Florence for Arvit

Day 7 –  Florence
Saturday, 7th September

am: Day at leisure
Optional visit of  the Auschwitz Memorial of Italian Jewish victims*
*this tour requires a short transfer by cab
Lunch at leisure
Optional walking tour of the historic center of Florence with a Jewish perspective
Dinner at leisure

Day 8 – Florence – Day tour trip to Ferrara
Sunday, 8th September

08 am: Client to walk to Florence train station – High speed train to Ferrara – Private guided tour of the historic center of Ferrara, ghetto and synagogue + MEIS (National Museum of Italian Judaism and the Shoah) museum https://meis.museum/en/
Lunch in a restaurant in Ferrara
Return to Florence by high speed train
Dinner at leisure

Day 9 – Transfer to Torino
Monday 9th  September

08:25am: High speed train to Turin train station – private driver will drop clients off at the Synagogue, while luggage  is transferred to hotel NH Torino.
12:30   Meet dr. Lampronti, who will lead all your visits of Piedmont’s synagogues.
Visit of the synagogue of Turin –
13:30 Lunch at Bistrot Enò
15:00-16:30 Transfer to piazza Carlina by private driver – walking tour of Jewish Torino including the Ghetto:  stop at Gelateria Mara dei Boschi to taste a kosher “gelato”
We walk to the Mole Antonelliana and climb to the top of the building using the panoramic elevator to enjoy a stunning view of the building.
After the Jewish Tour, clients walk back to the hotel escorted by a Torino certified guide to hotel NH Santo Stefano

Day 10 –  Turin – Day trip in Casale Monferrato
Tuesday, 10th September

09 am: Private driver to Casale Monferrato
Private guided visit of the Synagogue of Casale, Museum of Lights (Hanukah lamps), Jewish Art and History Museum, led by dr. Lampronti
Private driver to Vercelli
Lunch in Vercelli
Private guided visit  at the Jewish cemetery of Vercelli, led by dr. Lampronti
15:00 Private driver return to Turin – 17:30 Arrival in Turin
Dinner at leisure
20:30 Moonlight Private guided tour of historic center of Turin – 2 hours

Day 11 – Turin – Day trip in Carmagnola, Cherasco, Saluzzo and Mondovì
Wednesday, 11th September

08:30 am: Full day private driver to visit four of 12 synagogues of Piedmont
Private guided visit of Carmagnola and Cherasco synagogues led by dr. Lampronti
13:30 Lunch at restaurant in Bra
15:00 Private driver continues to Mondovì and Saluzzo
19:00 Return to Torino

Day 12 –  Departure to USA
Thursday, 12th September

Departure to USA (via Turin International airport or Milan Malpensa or other Italian airports)
After breakfast and hotel check out, end of Lilipans services.

PRICING

€ 6,750 per person (based on two people sharing a double room)

The trip will run with a minimum of 6 guests and a maximum of 16 guests so you are guaranteed to be part of a small, intimate group.

€ 1000,00 per person deposit is due immediately to confirm the booking, which will be deducted from  the total price. This deposit is non-refundable, unless the tour is canceled because the minimun number of participants is not reached.

€ 1,500, 00 per person second deposit is due by April 1, 2024

The final payment is due by June 1,  2024

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

In order to participate in our tours, Travel Insurance taken out in your country of residence is highly recommended. A travel insurance policy providing coronavirus protections and related cancellations is highly recommended.

We are not responsible for any fees or changes you may become liable for relating to the airlines or other transportation not provided by us.
For all international travel, US citizen’s passports must be valid for at least six months after the end of their stay in Italy, and have at least three blank visa pages. It is your responsibility to confirm that your travel documents meet the entry and exit requirements for the full duration of your trip.
All cancellation requests must be in writing and are valid from the day we receive the request.

Cancellations from 90 days prior departure: forfeit of €1,000 per person, plus any vendor prepaid reservations

Cancellations from 89 to 60 days prior departure: forfeit of €1,000 per person, second deposit per person, plus any vendor prepaid reservations.

Cancellations less than 60 days prior departure: full payment required with no refund given.

We do not offer a refund for unused portions of the tour, including but not limited to, missed meals, hotel nights, and sightseeing.

The € 1,000 per person  deposit in all instances is non-refundable, unless the tour is canceled because the minimun number of participants is not reached.
